About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician provides basic care for patients across the lifespan in the Emergency Department. The role includes direct patient care, assistance with procedures, clerical duties, and supply maintenance. The technician works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and indirect supervision of the Clinical Manager/Supervisor. The position calls for professionalism, accuracy, and the ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment while supporting optimal patient care. This is a casual, as-needed role at the Adena Pike Emergency Department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Complete EMT-Basic coursework, or complete it within one year of hire, or be actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Obtain CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Complete de-escalation training within 90 days and annually thereafter.
• Complete the ESI Course within 90 days of hire.
• Complete Basic Telemetry training within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrate professionalism and accuracy, and be able to perform in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience delivering patient care in an Emergency Department.
• EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic certification.
