About The Position

This is a .8 FTE (4 days per week) position providing Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) services to infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) within their natural environments. The position follows a stretch calendar. The Occupational Therapist (OT) will coach and support families using the Primary Service Provider (PSP) model and collaborate with a transdisciplinary team through joint visits, consultation, and 'role release' for unified family support. The role involves cultivating trust and rapport with families and staff, maintaining accurate records, facilitating IFSP, IEP, and Progress Report meetings, and completing evaluations and assessments for Part C and Part B services. Responsibilities are defined by the master contract and supervisor. Travel to homes and daycares is required and reimbursed per district policies.

Requirements

  • Licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist
  • Strong academic background
  • Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with disabilities
  • Knowledge of working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and families
  • Experience with completing Part C and Part B due process requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

Responsibilities
