About The Position

Lakeland Community College is seeking an instructor to provide on-campus, in-person instruction in Economics and student support to community college students. The available open positions are for in-person ECON 1150 Basic Economics courses. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching in-person sections of ECON 2500 Macroeconomics and ECON 2600 Microeconomics should a future need arise. Courses are available on a variety of days and times. Current openings are for lecture and/or lab sections. ECON 1150 Basic Economics (OT36) is a 3-credit course that provides an introduction to basic economics and its implications for economic problems and policies, aiding students in understanding the American economic system. This course is not recommended for students intending to take or who have taken ECON 2500 Principles of Macroeconomics or ECON 2600 Principles of Microeconomics. It involves 3 contact hours.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (any discipline)
  • 18 graduate credit hours in economics or a closely related field (either as part of the degree or additional work beyond the degree)
  • OR Master's degree in economics
  • Some experience teaching college-level basic economics classes
