About The Position

Lakeland Community College is seeking an instructor to provide in-person, on-campus instruction in Basic Economics (ECON 1150) and student support to College Credit Plus (CCP) students. The class is an introductory, college-level course held on the campus of Mentor High School, and students are considered Lakeland Community College students for the duration of the course and semester. Courses are available on a variety of days and times, with current openings for lecture and/or lab sections. ECON 1150 Basic Economics (3 Credits) provides an introduction to basic economics and its implications for economic problems and policies, aiding students in understanding the American economic system. This course is not recommended for students intending to take or who have already taken Principles of Macroeconomics or Principles of Microeconomics. The course involves 3 contact hours.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree (any discipline) and 18 graduate credit hours in economics or a closely related field (either as part of the degree or additional work beyond the degree), OR a master’s degree in economics.
  • Some experience teaching college-level basic economics classes.
