About The Position

Riverside Regional Medical Center is seeking an Echocardiographer to perform various cardiac ultrasound tests for age-specific populations. This role involves performing tests such as echo, stress echo (exercise and dobutamine), transesophageal echoes (TEE), and contrast imaging. The position also includes general secretarial/receptionist duties as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to competently perform these testing modalities in a professional and caring manner, assess patient status, interpret information, and modify procedures to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes. The role also emphasizes promoting and maintaining a safe work environment, incorporating national patient safety and quality initiatives. Riverside Regional Medical Center, established in 1916, is a comprehensive medical facility in Newport News, Virginia, known for its advanced technology and healing environment. Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience preferred.
  • Valid CPR card current.
  • Active status in good standing: Registered by the ARDMS or registry eligible as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer(RDCS, Adult), or with CCI/NBCVT as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program or equivalent on the job training from an echo Laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Echo, stress echo (to include exercise and dobutamine), transesophageal (TEE) echoes, and contrast imaging as appropriate.
  • Performs general secretarial/receptionist duties as needed.
  • Assesses patient status data and interprets appropriate information.
  • Modifies patient procedures to provide physician with appropriate clinical data to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for staff and customers, incorporating national patient safety/quality initiatives.
