About The Position
WesleyLife is hiring an as-needed Cook at Fieldstone of DeWitt. The Cook supports the health, happiness, and daily experience of residents by preparing meals and helping maintain a safe, efficient kitchen. The position may involve as-needed shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, twelve-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, or evening shifts from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The Cook prepares a variety of hot and cold dishes using chef-approved recipes, works with Chefs and Culinary Directors, and helps prepare meals for residents with modified diets. The role includes monitoring food quality and portions, following sanitation and waste-control practices, and contributing to a service-focused dining experience. Fieldstone of DeWitt is part of the WellSpire community and is a senior-living facility on a 14-acre campus. A pre-hire health assessment, drug screen, and tobacco screen are required.
Requirements
- At least one year of cooking experience.
- Successfully complete a pre-hire health assessment, drug screen, and tobacco screen before beginning employment.

Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes daily using chef-approved recipes.
- Collaborate with Chefs and Culinary Directors in a professional kitchen.
- Help prepare meals that meet residents' modified diet plans.
- Monitor food quality and manage portions, acting quickly to maintain service standards.
- Follow sanitation and waste-control practices to support a safe, efficient, and sustainable kitchen.
