ECE Paraeducator - 4 hrs/day (Preschool-Northwood)
About The Position
Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers with the education, care, supervision, and instruction of preschool-aged children in classrooms, common areas, playgrounds, and the community. Maintains and prepares classroom and related environments and materials, manages forms, and assists in developing a play-oriented curriculum. The position is based at Northwood and is scheduled for 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, over a 12-month work year. The role is part-time and pays $19.61–$25.94 per hour in 9 annual steps, with salary placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees working at least 4 hours per day; the district contributes 50% for employees working 4–5.99 hours per day and the full contribution for employees working 6 or more hours per day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six college units in Early Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field emphasizing infant-to-preschool-aged children.
- Successful completion of at least 48 college credit units or passage of a competency assessment.
- CPR and First Aid certification with pediatric endorsement; a valid First Aid card and CPR certificate are required.
- A valid driver's license may be required.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a preschool-age enrichment program or child care setting is preferred.
