ECE Paraeducator - 4 hrs/day (Preschool-Northwood)
About The Position
The ECE Paraeducator assists one or more Early Childhood teachers with the education, care, supervision, and instruction of preschool-aged children. Work takes place in classrooms, common areas, playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community. The role also maintains and prepares classroom and related environments and materials, manages forms, and assists in developing a play-oriented curriculum. This is a part-time position at Northwood, scheduled for 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a 12-month work year. The hourly salary is $19.61–$25.94 in nine annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees working at least 4 hours per day. The district contributes 50% for employees working 4–5.99 hours per day and the full contribution for employees working 6 or more hours per day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six college units in Early Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field emphasizing infant-to-preschool-aged children.
- Successful completion of at least 48 college credit units or passage of a competency assessment.
- CPR/First Aid certification, including a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate with pediatric endorsement.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a preschool-aged enrichment program or child care setting.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
