About The Position

Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of preschool-aged children in classrooms, common areas, playgrounds, and the community. The role is based at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children. The paraeducator maintains and prepares classroom and related environments and materials, manages forms, and assists in developing a play-oriented curriculum. This is a part-time position at the Woodridge location, working 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 12 months. The hourly salary is $19.61–$25.94 in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees who work at least 4 hours per day; the district contribution is 50% for employees working 4–5.99 hours per day and full for employees working 6 or more hours per day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six college units in Early Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field emphasizing infant-to-preschool-aged children.
At least 48 college credit units or successful completion of a competency assessment.
Valid First Aid card and CPR certificate with pediatric endorsement.
A valid driver’s license may be required.
Provide a resume with clear evidence of required experience.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a preschool-age enrichment program or child care setting is preferred.
