About The Position

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut is seeking an E-Commerce Team Member to support its online retail operations and community mission. The E-Commerce Department helps fund Goodwill programs that support meaningful employment and quality of life. The role involves identifying donated items for online sale and supporting the process from evaluation and listing through customer communication and shipping. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday day-shift position.

Requirements

• Knowledge of jewelry or different types of collectibles.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a digital camera.
• Basic knowledge of English and creative writing skills.
• Ability to meet considerable standing, reaching, lifting, carrying, bending, pushing, and pulling demands.
• Ability to lift over 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in E-Commerce is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort, evaluate, and identify the value of donated items, including jewelry and collectibles, for sale on the E-Commerce website.
• Research specialty items and write creative descriptions to increase their exposure and value online.
• Photograph items with a digital camera to accurately represent them to online bidders.
• Communicate with customers by email and phone to address questions, concerns, or issues about listed items.
• Perform proper testing on jewelry that may contain valuable gems or precious metals.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Prepare items for shipping.
