Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through completion of the intern session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed coursework in Conduction, Convection and Fluid Mechanics (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with Solid Modeling / Finite Element Modeling / CFD, Computer programming (Perl, VBA, C++, Python, Matlab, etc), Optimization, Statistics, Manufacturing methods
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, validation, production implementation and fleet management of engines flying throughout the world.
  • Focus on the Blade Outer Air Seal (BOAS) in the Turbine, and may include: thermal modeling and analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), life assessments, and review of engine-run hardware.
