DSP - Community Direct Support
About The Position
Santa Lucia is seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and community involvement. The role involves community-based activities, building meaningful relationships, and promoting a fulfilling lifestyle for those served. Caregivers provide transportation and supervision, model appropriate behaviors, plan and participate in community activities, and support healthy lifestyles and daily living skills. No prior experience is necessary; comprehensive training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug test, and I-9.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check, drug test, and I-9 is required for employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation and supervision.
- Model appropriate behaviors.
- Plan and participate in community activities, such as movies, bowling, parks, zoo visits, car rides, and sporting events.
- Support individuals in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and assist with daily living skills.
