About The Position

Smarte Carte is hiring a part-time Driver at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The role transports carts from high-return areas to high-rental areas so carts remain available to customers, and operates company vehicles safely and efficiently. The driver moves carts between terminals using a pickup truck and trailer, as well as manually moving carts around departures, baggage claim, the garage, and rental car center to designated collection areas. The position also includes equipment and cart cleaning, inventory protocol, passenger assistance, communication with colleagues and management, and adapting to operational changes. This position pays $20.25 per hour and is expected to average approximately 16–20 hours per week. Scheduling availability must include weekends and holidays as needed. The role requires the ability to work in adverse weather, lift and move heavy items, and walk and stand for the duration of a shift, which may be up to 10 hours.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of successful work experience.
Demonstrated ability to safely maneuver a truck and trailer.
Open scheduling availability, including weekends and holidays.
Confidence and competence in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort speaking to the general public.
Ability to pass state, federal (FAA), and Homeland Security clearance requirements and reference checks.
Ability to obtain an airport badge.
Valid driver's license and good driving history.
Ability to lift 40 pounds to waist height.
Ability to walk and stand for the duration of a shift, including up to 10 hours a day.
Physical ability and manual dexterity to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 75–100 pounds.
Ability to withstand wind, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures up to 115 degrees.

Responsibilities

Transport carts between terminals using a pickup truck and trailer.
Manually move carts throughout departures, baggage claim, the garage, and rental car center to collection areas, vending units, or cart tracks.
Follow cart replenishment inventory protocol for rental mechanized equipment.
Clean carts, CMUs, EQRs, cart tracks, locks, keys, and moving equipment routinely.
Learn and practice safe work habits to protect oneself, coworkers, company equipment, airport property, passengers, and visitors.
Provide general customer service to assist passengers navigating the airport.
Perform the job honestly, reliably, and professionally.
Communicate effectively with peers, maintenance, and management to improve business operations.
Adapt to operational changes.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
