About The Position

AAA is hiring Drivers in Tucson, Arizona, to provide non-emergency medical transportation. Drivers provide safe, reliable service and personalized care to passengers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities. The role requires assisting passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, supporting mobility-device securement, ensuring on-time pickups and drop-offs, completing vehicle inspections and required paperwork, and using electronic devices as needed. Training classes start every week. The starting hourly rate is $16.00.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 25 years old.
Valid Arizona driver's license.
Minimum of five years of driving history.
No pending charges.
No felony convictions within the past seven years.
No DUI or DWI convictions.
Pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record investigation.
Pass a DOT physical if over age 65, including a pre-employment drug screening.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation.
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
Assist with mobility devices and securement as required by safety protocols.
Ensure on-time customer pickups and drop-offs.
Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Complete required vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
Complete required paperwork.
Use tablets or other electronic devices as required.
