About The Position

Driver Recruiters pre-screen and select qualified drivers available to fill existing company job openings. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Elicit and provide relevant qualification information from/to potential drivers including, but not limited to: driving record, tractor trailer experience, criminal background, company & DOT policies & procedures, duties and responsibilities and all benefits in order to extend a pre-approval on the first conversation with qualified candidates. • Utilize authority granted, in order to make sound decisions on pre-approval, pass or rejection of all applications, submitted in writing, faxed, telephone or Internet. • Operate all necessary computer programs to include AS400, windows, imaging and faxes in order to complete work and application of new and former drivers to ensure compliance with Federal DOT regulations and company hiring guidelines. • Provide orientation information, transportation and lodging of scheduled applicants while utilizing sales skills in order to close the deal to ensure high show percentages of applicants. • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of recruiting techniques.
  • Excellent decision making skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very fast paced and high volume work environment.
  • Probing, questioning and listening skills.
  • Strong written and documentation skills.
  • Skill in operating a P.C., multi-line telephone, fax machine, copy machine, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Two to three years recruiting or sales experience.
  • One to two years P.C. (Windows) experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Transportation experience desired.
