About The Position

The Driver II operates company vehicles, including DOT-regulated commercial motor vehicles (CMVs), to complete customer service routes involving pickups, deliveries, and record transport. The role is responsible for safe transportation of company assets and customer materials while maintaining chain-of-custody, confidentiality, customer service, and regulatory standards. It is an intermediate driver-family position that supports route reliability and operational execution. The employee may operate powered industrial trucks and authorized DOT-regulated CMVs when assigned and must maintain required equipment certifications, a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and applicable DOT qualifications. Work is performed primarily in company vehicles and at customer locations, with regular interaction in warehouses and storage facilities. Drivers encounter varying traffic, road, weather, and temperature conditions and must follow company safety and security protocols while meeting service expectations. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Compensation is $24.00 per hour.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record meeting company standards.
Meet driver qualification standards under 49 CFR Part 391 when operating DOT-regulated vehicles.
Successfully complete a DOT pre-employment drug screening in accordance with federal regulations.
Maintain a current, valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification; certification is offered upon hire.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
Demonstrated safe driving history and commitment to defensive driving and roadway safety.
Ability to interact professionally with customers and represent the company positively.
Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and chain-of-custody standards when handling customer materials.
Ability to follow established procedures and safety protocols.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; dependable, reliable, and safety-conscious.
Basic comfort with handheld technology and scanning devices.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English sufficiently to understand safety procedures, follow written instructions, complete documentation, and communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods; and perform tasks involving stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, and balancing.
Ability to safely load, unload, and maneuver boxes, bins, and materials using proper lifting techniques.
Ability to work in varying and sometimes extreme weather and temperature conditions, enter and exit vehicles repeatedly, and maintain alertness and concentration while driving for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous route driving, delivery, or transportation experience preferred.
Experience working in warehouse, logistics, or records management environments preferred.
Experience operating commercial vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate company vehicles, including DOT-regulated CMVs, on assigned service routes.
Drive vans or box trucks to customer locations for pickups, deliveries, and other service needs.
Operate powered industrial trucks, including forklifts, order pickers, and electric pallet jacks, when authorized and certified.
Work directly with customers to fulfill service requests and represent the company professionally.
Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate and comply with applicable Hours-of-Service requirements when operating regulated vehicles.
Immediately report on- or off-duty accidents, citations, inspections, or changes in license status.
Use handheld scanners and inventory management systems.
Meet established productivity, timeliness, and accuracy standards.
Maintain customer confidentiality and chain-of-custody procedures when handling materials.
Assist team members and support operations by loading, unloading, staging, scanning, and preparing materials for transport.
Follow operational protocols, company safety procedures, and OSHA standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
