About The Position

As a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, SpartanNash is a food solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods across a global supply chain network. The Donut Fryer works independently to bake, fry, decorate, package, display, and stock bakery products, helping ensure the shift contributes to the store’s financial interests. The role also includes other duties assigned in a timely manner. The work takes place in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

High school diploma preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Nice To Haves

One year of retail or related experience.

Responsibilities

Bake and fry products according to the production schedule; these duties account for approximately 80% of the role.
Price, date, wrap, and/or bag bakery products.
Fill, rotate, and merchandise bakery shelves, cases, and displays.
Notify the Bakery Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Assist with receiving, unloading, and stocking merchandise.
Maintain familiarity with department products, including differences in price, taste, preparation, and use.
Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
Follow PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments when needed to support the customer experience.
Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
