About The Position

The Donor Door Greeter welcomes and greets donors, safely receives donations, and assists customers while remaining engaged and communicating effectively. The role processes donation records efficiently using a hand-held device and demonstrates customer commitment and personal effectiveness. The position is based at the Opelika retail store of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers in Opelika, Alabama. Although hired as a Retail Associate – Donor Door Greeter, the employee will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work across all areas of the retail operation. Part-time positions average 20–25 hours per week, with hours fluctuating according to business needs, seasonal changes, and donation volumes. Operating days vary by store location, and the employee must be available for any shift Monday through Sunday.

Requirements

Ability to use a hand-held electronic device.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Availability to work any shift Monday through Sunday.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in retail or a customer-service-related environment.
Warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

Greet donors quickly and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.
Receive donated goods by unloading vehicles and carrying donated items into the store.
Provide receipts to donors and maintain accurate donation records using a hand-held device.
Organize donations into bins as they are brought in to support accurate processing.
Perform general housekeeping duties and keep the work area neat and clean.
Assist truck drivers when loading and unloading donations.
Work in other store areas as requested by the leadership team.
Learn and work across all areas of the retail operation after cross-training.
