About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Donor Centre Manager to join our dynamic Collections team in our Regina donor centre. The Collections Team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will assist in the collection of blood and blood products ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and all required documentation is carried out. You will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations.

Requirements

  • Completion of a university degree in a relevant health care or business-related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in related supervisory/management/leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer service and operational management.
  • Strong leadership, communication and team building skills.
  • Proven analytical and decision making skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to travel to attend regional and national meetings.
  • Ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of donor centre operations including but not limited to ensuring regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, managing staff, productivity, quality and safety while continuously seeking improvements.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, supplies, and equipment to meet collection goals, manage staff (recruiting, mentoring, and development), handle budget planning and oversight, and collaborate with other teams on scheduling for maximum efficiency.
  • Improve the donation experience to build donor loyalty. This involves tracking key metrics (donation time, satisfaction, feedback, deferrals) and implementing improvements, ensuring timely donor communication, and fostering a culture of excellent donor care.
  • Create a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters open communication, respect, and teamwork. You will also motivate and support staff development, communicate regularly with teams and leadership, coach and mentor direct reports, and collaborate with other managers to develop annual collection plans.
  • Liaise with the Quality Assurance department to promote and implement a continuous quality improvement cycle. This includes overseeing non-conformance management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and participation in audits, including development of improvement plans and communication with the team.
