About The Position

Accepts donations on behalf of Goodwill at standalone or storefront donation centers and provides excellent customer service to donors. Goodwill is a mission-integrated organization funded by resalable goods. Proceeds from donated items support job-readiness training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and barriers to employment; the organization also keeps donated goods out of landfills.

Requirements

High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Six months to one year of customer-service-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Open and close the assigned donation center site according to department guidelines and the applicable training manual.
Accept donations according to established guidelines, greet and assist donors, and accurately complete donation receipts.
Politely refuse donations when necessary, refer donors to other locations, and thank donors for each donation.
Keep the interior and exterior of the site clean and organized, including sweeping the perimeter, storing donations neatly inside the trailer, and picking up debris and trash.
When applicable, empty and maintain the cleanliness of the Unattended Donation Center (UDC) at the site.
Complete daily administrative tasks accurately and promptly, including donor counts, sorting and submitting donation receipts on schedule, and completing daily tally sheets.
Safeguard donations and company property from damage and theft, and treat them with respect and care.
Communicate supply needs, unusual situations, and safety concerns accurately and promptly to the appropriate Supervisor or Coordinator.
Safely and accurately load donations into bins and organize them inside donation trailers.
Assist Truck Helpers and Truck Drivers with loading donations into Goodwill trucks when needed.
Communicate daily with Dispatch about current product volumes and transportation or service needs.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
