About The Position

The Domestic Operations Agent is responsible for prioritizing, scheduling, and routing shipments via air and ground networks. This role involves interacting with customers and agents to provide quotes for various shipping methods, including air, FTL, LTL, hot shot, and line-haul. A key aspect of the position is to maintain and grow relationships with customers and carriers, proactively sourcing, pricing, negotiating, and tracking shipments daily. The agent will also be responsible for securing capacity for time-sensitive freight using multiple sourcing platforms, collaborating with team members to ensure high customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, and handling communications with branch offices and agents. Local cartage and dispatch are also part of the duties. The position requires participation in an on-call duty rotation and may involve other assigned tasks.

Requirements

Minimum of 2+ years of Freight Forwarding experience required
Effective communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively
Attention to detail and accuracy
Continual desire to learn and expand domestic knowledge
High level of resourcefulness and initiative

Responsibilities

Prioritize, schedule and route shipments for transportation via air and ground network.
Interact with customers and agents to rate and quote shipments via air, FTL, LTL, hot shot and line-haul.
Maintain and grow relationships on Team’s behalf with both existing and new customers and carriers.
Proactively reach out to carriers to source, price, negotiate and track shipments daily.
Source and secure capacity for time sensitive freight by leveraging multiple sourcing platforms.
Work alongside team members to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Branch Office and agent communications.
Local cartage and dispatch.
Participate in the required on-call duty rotation.
Any other tasks that are appropriate to the position or may be assigned by supervisor.
