About The Position

Union Home Mortgage’s L.E.A.D Internship Program aims to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for interns to learn about the industry, be educated by Sr. Leadership and their peers, achieve their personal goals, and develop their skills and knowledge base. The program offers innovative opportunities for interns to learn and grow throughout their careers, including shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects, and corporate outings. This internship provides students a chance to meet new people, gain experience, and learn from industry leaders. Interns are treated as full-time Partners, working 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and based at the headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio. This position will collaborate with UHM’s Publications team to develop and edit training manuals, policies, and procedures for Partners nationwide. The role requires expertise in English grammar and syntax, high attention to detail, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe products, including Word and Acrobat.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years’ higher education in English, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Education in and/or experience with Chicago Manual of Style.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Managers and Subject-Matter-Experts across the organization to create internal documentation and maintain its accuracy.
  • Develop, edit, and format guides, checklists, and other reference documents for Partners to utilize in their day-to-day workflows according to UHM’s branding and copyright standards.
  • Participate in the execution of scheduled document audits for quality control testing.
  • Assist with creating monthly bulletins, company-wide memorandums, and other communications.
  • Assist with maintaining version control and tracking records of all published internal documents in accordance with UHM document retention and distribution policies.
  • Participate in weekly Training huddles and Publications huddles.
