About The Position

Shopko Optical is seeking an Optometrist to join its team in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The position offers the autonomy to build the practice you want, with support to develop meaningful relationships in the community. Full ancillary support, including screening and patient billing, allows doctors to focus on patient care. This is a no-call position with dedicated staff to support patient care.

The practice provides comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, refractive services, diagnosis and management of eye disease, and cataract and refractive surgery co-management. Shopko Optical’s CARES approach emphasizes connecting with patients, assessing their needs, recommending personalized care plans, educating them about their care, and following through consistently.

Shopko Optical began in 1978 as part of the Shopko retail chain and transitioned to freestanding optical centers in 2019. It operates across multiple states and provides eye exams, eyewear, and contact lenses in community-oriented settings.

Requirements

• OD degree from an ACOE-approved College of Optometry.
• Ability to communicate with customers and teammates.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive eye exams.
• Fit contact lenses.
• Provide refractive services.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage eye disease.
• Co-manage cataract and refractive surgery cases.
• Deliver patient care using the Shopko Optical CARES approach: connect with patients, assess their needs, recommend personalized care plans, educate them, and follow up consistently.
• Communicate with customers and teammates.
