About The Position

Shopko Optical is seeking an Optometrist to join its team at locations in Faribault and Owatonna, Minnesota. The role offers autonomy to build a practice while working with an experienced, cohesive team. Shopko Optical provides ancillary support, including patient screening and billing, allowing doctors to focus on patient care. The position includes no on-call duties and support from dedicated staff.

The optometrist provides comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, refractive services, diagnosis and management of eye disease, and cataract and refractive surgery co-management. The position emphasizes Shopko Optical CARES: connecting with patients, assessing their needs, recommending personalized care plans, educating them about their care, and following through consistently.

Requirements

• OD degree from an ACOE-approved College of Optometry.
• Ability to communicate with customers and teammates.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive eye exams.
• Fit contact lenses.
• Provide refractive services.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage eye disease.
• Co-manage cataract and refractive surgery.
• Connect with patients and create comfort through personal connection.
• Assess patients' needs by asking appropriate questions.
• Develop personalized care plans.
• Educate patients about the reasons behind recommended care.
• Follow up consistently with patients.
