About The Position

The Dockworker sorts and handles freight moving in and out of over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks. The role operates forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight, while following applicable safety and regulatory requirements. This position is offered in both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Able to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to perform job tasks, understand instructions and regulations, respond to inquiries, and complete shipping documents, reports, and records.

Nice To Haves

Warehouse, freight, dock, forklift, or pallet jack experience.
Forklift certification or hazmat training.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment in compliance with state, federal, and Department of Transportation regulations.
Operate dock tools and maintain straps, bars, air bags, cardboard, and dunnage to ensure freight is loaded securely and properly.
Load, recoup, rewrap, and stack freight as needed.
Verify shipments by reading labels and correctly securing freight for loading and unloading trailers.
Follow established bill and quality control procedures to support timely, claims-free, and cost-efficient shipments.
Log, report, and process freight shortages and damages.
Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
