About The Position

Roadtex Transportation, acquired by Echo Global Logistics in 2022, specializes in nationwide LTL transportation of time- and temperature-sensitive products. It operates a network of 32 temperature-controlled facilities and provides refrigerated transportation, tracking, equipment, and warehousing capabilities. The Dockworker role involves operating a forklift to move materials and goods and supporting other warehouse tasks. The employee must work safely, maintain an organized work area, and may work in dusty, hot, or cold conditions.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of forklift experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
• Ability to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
• Familiarity with forklift controls and capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and good communication skills.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift and move materials and goods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Load and unload materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using a forklift.
• Maintain inventory records and report discrepancies to management.
• Operate the forklift safely and responsibly at all times.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Report forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
