About The Position

Hiring Dockworkers to load and unload trailers in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role involves handling, sorting, counting, stacking, and securing freight; assisting drivers; inspecting forklifts; maintaining the dock area; and supporting training for new staff, participants, clients, and volunteers. Regular and reliable attendance is required, and other duties may be assigned. Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen. Requirements

Proper loading and unloading of trailers.
Ability to handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Properly load and unload trailers.
Handle goods and equipment carefully to avoid damage or breakage.
Sort and label skids and place them in proper locations.
Perform inventory counts using bills of lading, trailer manifests, or packing slips when loading and unloading goods, shipments, and returns.
Assist drivers with loading and unloading goods or equipment.
Perform daily routine forklift inspections.
Maintain good housekeeping around the dock area.
Stack goods neatly and safely.
Submit needed reports and information in a timely manner.
Assist the supervisor in providing on-the-job training to new staff, participants, clients, and volunteers.
Load and secure shipments according to proper procedure.
Understand and implement safe, efficient freight-handling and lifting procedures.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
