About The Position

Roadtex Transportation, acquired by Echo Global Logistics in 2022, specializes in nationwide LTL transportation of time- and temperature-sensitive products. It operates a network of 32 temperature-controlled facilities and provides refrigerated transportation, tracking, specialized equipment, and warehousing capabilities.

The Dockworker uses a forklift to move materials and goods in a warehouse and around trucks, trailers, and storage areas. The role requires familiarity with forklift controls and capabilities, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical strength and stamina are needed for lifting and moving goods. The employee may work in dusty, hot, or cold conditions and may assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of forklift experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
• Ability to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
• Familiarity with forklift controls and capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift and move materials and goods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Load and unload materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using a forklift.
• Maintain inventory records and report discrepancies to management.
• Operate the forklift safely and responsibly at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
