About The Position
As a Dockworker at Ross Express, you will play a vital role in staging, loading, unloading, and securing freight. Ross Express is a New England less-than-truckload (LTL) provider that emphasizes reliable service and the personal growth and development of its staff. The listed hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Requirements
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and understand orders and follow safety protocols.
- Physical endurance and strength for physically demanding work.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight from company trailers and place it in designated dock areas.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment to move freight safely and efficiently.
- Secure freight for safe transport using load bars, straps, and blocking as required.
- Inspect freight for damage and promptly report issues to a supervisor.
- Follow safety procedures, wear appropriate protective gear, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate the safe and efficient movement of freight.
