MHS Lift is looking for a Dock & Door Service Technician to join our growing service team. In this role, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial loading dock and door equipment while providing exceptional customer service throughout the region. If you have strong mechanical aptitude, enjoy working in the field, and take pride in delivering quality workmanship, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 2–3 years of experience servicing dock and door equipment preferred, or comparable experience repairing industrial equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, or other electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and service manuals
  • Basic mechanic tools (specialty tools provided)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely on ladders, at heights, and in varying weather conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls efficiently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multiple manufacturers' dock and door equipment
  • Manufacturer certifications such as Rite-Hite, Kelley, Serco, Poweramp, or similar
  • Experience using tablets or mobile devices for service documentation

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial dock and door equipment
  • Service dock levelers, overhead doors, vehicle restraints, dock seals, shelters, bumpers, and related equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and perform repairs
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections and recommend needed repairs
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition and repair recommendations
  • Work closely with dispatch to manage daily service schedules
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure timely repairs
  • Complete electronic work orders and service documentation accurately
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
  • Participate in ongoing manufacturer training and professional development
