About The Position

Durango Mountain Club is an exclusive, members-only restaurant and club. Servers are expected to meet higher standards than those of a casual dining environment and provide members with a premier experience. This is a seasonal position at Purgatory Resort in Durango, Colorado, anticipated to run from November 7, 2026, through April 1, 2027. Dates may change based on applicant availability and business needs. The role includes a free season pass for the employee and their dependents. Seasonal hiring takes place on a rolling basis, and the position remains open until filled.

Requirements

Previous serving experience is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge of basic food and beverage service procedures.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Basic cocktail knowledge.

Responsibilities

Greet arriving guests and make them feel welcome.
Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
Serve food and drinks promptly and courteously, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
Check with guests to confirm satisfaction and address concerns or special requests.
Clear tables promptly after guests leave so they are ready for incoming guests.
Recommend menu items, specials, and promotions.
Upsell additional items such as appetizers, desserts, or drinks to enhance the guest experience.
Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
