The District Shift Leader participates in a targeted General Manager development plan, preparing to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position becomes available. The role performs management duties at a home location and supports other bakeries in the market as needed. District Shift Leaders lead to the General Manager standard when the General Manager is absent and are expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations and accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available; the specific location is not guaranteed. Shifts may begin as early as 3 a.m. for baking and store-opening duties. The position leads by example, represents the brand, and coaches and trains teams. It also involves working in different roles during each shift to maintain food and beverage quality and a safe, clean store environment. The development plan includes administrative training in inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as preparation in P&L analysis, food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting. The role requires at least 30 hours per week and may include varied hours and weekend work. Employees will not work past 3 p.m.
