About The Position

Einstein Bros. Bagels is hiring a District Shift Leader to participate in a targeted General Manager development plan. The role is intended to prepare the employee to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position becomes available. District Shift Leaders work management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed. They lead to the General Manager standard when the General Manager is absent and are expected to fill in for General Managers at other market locations and accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available; the specific location is not guaranteed.

Shifts may begin as early as 3 a.m. for baking and opening duties. The role involves leading by example, representing the brand, coaching and training teams, and working in different bakery roles to help ensure high-quality food and beverages and a safe, clean store. The development plan includes administrative training in inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as learning P&L analysis, food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting. Bakeries close at 2 p.m.; employees are not expected to work past 3 p.m.

The physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours; these requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work varied hours and days as business dictates, including early hours and weekends; shifts may start as early as 3 a.m.
• Must pass a background check and possess a current, valid driver's license.
• Must complete the Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the General Manager development plan unless already holding a valid certification.
• Must be willing to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market and accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available; the specific location is not guaranteed.

• A valid ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform management duties at a home bakery and support other bakeries in the market as needed.

• Train in and carry out restaurant administrative duties, including inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.
• Develop skills in P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.
• Accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when one becomes available.
