District Manager ~ Central Michigan Area
About The Position
Auto-Wares is seeking a District Manager for its Central Michigan area, which includes Cadillac, Lake City, Flint, Mount Pleasant, Alma, and Ithaca. The District Manager oversees daily operations across assigned stores and ensures locations meet or exceed company goals for sales, customer service, inventory management, and employee development. This role mentors store managers, implements strategic initiatives, maintains operational excellence, and serves as a liaison between corporate headquarters and store locations. Auto-Wares is a group of privately held companies in the automotive car care industry and a distribution company headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It has locations in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and has provided parts since 1976.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a District Manager, Area Manager, or in a similar role in the automotive aftermarket or retail distribution industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and sales strategies.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive business performance.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the district.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support store managers to help meet company goals.
- Drive sales performance by implementing strategies and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Maintain and exceed customer service standards to provide a positive, consistent customer experience across locations.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor operations, provide feedback, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Foster teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Analyze district performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance at all locations.
- Communicate company initiatives to stores and address store needs as a liaison between corporate headquarters and store locations.
