District Manager ~ Central Michigan Area
About The Position
Auto-Wares is seeking a District Manager for its Central Michigan Area, covering Cadillac, Lake City, Flint, Mount Pleasant, Alma, and Ithaca. The role oversees daily operations at stores in the assigned district and ensures locations meet or exceed company goals for sales, customer service, inventory management, and employee development. The District Manager mentors store managers, implements strategic initiatives, and maintains operational excellence. Regular travel within the district is required. Auto-Wares is a group of privately held companies in the automotive car care industry. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it is a distribution company with locations in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The company has provided parts since 1976.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a District Manager, Area Manager, or in a similar role in the automotive aftermarket or retail distribution industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and sales strategies.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive business performance.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the district.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support store managers to ensure company goals are met.
- Drive sales performance by implementing effective strategies and monitoring KPIs.
- Maintain and exceed customer service standards across all locations.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor operations, provide feedback, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Analyze district performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance at all locations.
- Act as a liaison between corporate headquarters and store locations, communicating company initiatives and addressing store needs.
