About The Position

We are searching for a dynamic, highly motivated and goal-oriented District Manager to be based in the Chicago area and covering the state of Illinois. This individual will be responsible for growing Kobrand’s total portfolio in key accounts, working with suppliers, and distributor sales representatives, conducting special events and executing corporate market initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum five years’ experience selling fine wines (Sommelier, Supplier, Distributor)
  • Proven track record of developing new business opportunities, growing existing accounts, and building and maintaining impactful customer relationships
  • Must have strong verbal/written communication, organizational, and sales skills
  • Passion and knowledge of wine, wine regions and the wine industry (WSET, CSW a plus)
  • Strong computer skills are a MUST (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to do occasional overnight travel within the territory

Responsibilities

  • 85% focus on account management / 10% focus on distributor management/ 5% administrative
  • Develop a key account list and maintain strong relationships with buyers, restaurant groups, retailers, and important on/off-premise accounts, with a focus on City of Chicago on-premise accounts
  • Work with distributor partners and Kobrand suppliers to drive sales and distribution growth in on/off-premise accounts throughout Illinois
  • Propose, coordinate, and execute on-premise and off-premise events, tastings, wine dinners, and educational activations for consumers/trade
  • Conduct monthly business reviews with supervisor to evaluate account performance, identify growth opportunities, and align on strategic priorities
  • Identify market trends and opportunities and propose action plans to supervisor
  • Manage and achieve individual quota for depletions, placements and qualitative efforts
