About The Position

VAST Data is looking for a District Manager, Financial Services to join our growing team! VAST Data is the AI Operating System for the modern enterprise, bringing together storage, database, virtualization, and AI services into a single unified platform. The world's most innovative organizations rely on VAST to power AI factories, real-time analytics, and mission-critical applications at exabyte scale. As we expand our presence within Financial Services, we are seeking a proven leader to build and scale our Hedge Fund business while leading a high-performing team focused on the broader financial services. The District Sales Manager – Financial Services (Hedge Funds) will lead a team of Enterprise Account Executives responsible for driving new business and expanding strategic relationships across hedge funds, quantitative trading firms, asset managers, and adjacent financial institutions. This leader will own the regional business strategy, develop go-to-market plays for the hedge fund vertical, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales Engineering, Alliances, and Executive Leadership to establish VAST Data as the platform of choice for AI and high-performance data infrastructure in financial services. This is both a people leadership and business-building role requiring someone who has successfully sold into or built teams serving sophisticated financial institutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of enterprise technology sales experience, with significant experience selling infrastructure, AI, cloud, or data platforms
  • 5+ years leading enterprise sales teams with a track record of exceeding revenue targets
  • Deep experience selling into hedge funds, quantitative trading firms, or large financial institutions
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage C-level decision makers
  • Experience building new markets or vertical practices from the ground up
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, AI infrastructure, storage, cloud, and high-performance computing environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with channels, strategic alliances, and ecosystem partners is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist team of sales reps to grow and develop their business within their respective territories
  • Recruit and hire additional sales reps as the business demands.
  • Provide guidance to extended team in your district
  • Regular review of activities and pipeline
  • Generate revenue and work closely with a network of Channel Partners to successfully sell the VAST Data offering
  • Manage the sales process to align with customer buying cycles
  • Manage customer relationships from first meeting through (optional) proof of concept as well as after the sale to enable opportunities to expand the VAST Data footprint.
  • Develop and present proposals to customers with information that demonstrates the ability of the VAST solution to meet customers’ business objectives and justify the sale.
  • Prospect, penetrate large accounts, reaching decision-makers, and closing business.
