Distribution Sales Manager

Gotion, Inc.Manteno, IL
Hybrid

About The Position

The Distribution Sales Manager, EV Mobile Charging is a territory-focused commercial leader responsible for activating and growing Gotion's dealer and distribution network for mobile EV charging products across the United States and Canada. The role owns regional showroom partner relationships, drives direct fleet and project sales, and is the primary field-facing commercial presence for the EV Mobile Charging product line. This is both a hunter and a relationship-builder role: the ideal candidate knows how to recruit and onboard dealer partners, scope and close mobile charging projects, and develop long-term commercial relationships with fleet operators, utilities, and construction companies. Prior experience selling capital equipment through dealer/distributor channels — in mobile power, EV charging, or adjacent industries — is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or Business preferred
  • 7–12+ years of progressive sales or business development experience
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience managing dealer, distributor, or channel partner relationships — in capital equipment, mobile power, EV charging, or industrial products
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets through both direct and channel-led sales motions
  • Experience scoping and closing project-based or solution sales (not purely transactional product sales)
  • Strong commercial skills: able to build proposals, structure pricing, and navigate procurement processes
  • Comfortable operating from a showroom hub with regular travel across territory (~30–40%)
  • U.S. work authorization required; must be able to work on-site in Manteno, IL as a home base
  • Direct experience in one or more of the following: Capital equipment dealer or distribution sales — mobile power, generators, temporary power, HVAC, or industrial equipment
  • EV charging equipment sales — hardware, through dealer or direct channel (fleet or commercial segment)
  • Fleet electrification solutions — charging infrastructure, fleet management systems, or commercial EV equipment
  • Project-based solution sales — scoped deployments with installation, commissioning, or service components

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into or alongside fleet managers, facilities directors, procurement teams, or utility EV program administrators
  • Familiarity with US government incentive programs applicable to fleet charging: IRA tax credits, NEVI, utility fleet rebates
  • Existing dealer or distributor relationships in capital equipment, power, or EV segments in the Midwest, Southeast, or nationally
  • Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) for pipeline management and reporting
  • Exposure to working with or for a Chinese-owned OEM operating in the US
  • Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, qualify, and onboard dealer and distribution partners across assigned territory — including equipment dealers, EV integrators, fleet solution providers, and rental companies
  • Develop and manage dealer business plans, including sales targets, co-marketing activities, deal registration, and quarterly performance reviews
  • Support dealer teams through product training, joint customer visits, and technical sales support to accelerate partner productivity
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective partners to support network expansion as the showroom footprint grows
  • Serve as the primary commercial presence anchored at Gotion's regional showroom — hosting customer demos, fleet evaluations, and partner engagement events
  • Own the territory sales plan: revenue target, account coverage model, pipeline build, and forecast accuracy
  • Drive direct sales to strategic fleet accounts, construction companies, utilities, and enterprise customers — working alongside dealer partners where appropriate
  • Develop and manage a robust opportunity pipeline using CRM tools; maintain accurate forecasting and deal stage hygiene
  • Lead mobile charging project scoping engagements — working with customers to define deployment requirements, site conditions, fleet size, and charging schedules
  • Build commercially sound proposals including equipment configuration, pricing, installation scope, and ROI/TCO analysis
  • Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to ensure project deliverability and on-time execution
  • Manage customer relationships through the full sales cycle — from initial demo through project commissioning and account expansion
  • Represent Gotion at regional trade shows, fleet events, utility conferences, and dealer expos to build brand presence and generate leads
  • Conduct VOC (Voice of Customer) conversations to gather competitive intelligence, feature feedback, and market pricing signals
  • Identify and develop relationships with fleet electrification consultants, government fleet programs, and utility EV incentive administrators
  • Collaborate with the GTM Program Manager to refine channel strategy, segment prioritization, and sales tools based on field learnings
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data and weekly activity reporting in CRM
  • Participate in monthly forecast reviews and quarterly business reviews with leadership
  • Provide structured field feedback on competitive activity, customer objections, pricing pressure, and product gaps
