About The Position

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers based on Maui, Hawaii, to support local electric utility customers, projects, and teams. The role focuses on electric utility design engineering and delivering high-quality work while working directly with utility clients and supporting a team. Qualified candidates located on Oahu and candidates from elsewhere in the United States interested in relocating are welcome; a competitive relocation package is available to eligible hires. The Distribution Engineer independently develops design and construction work packages for moderately complex overhead and underground electrical distribution systems operating from 4 kV through 138 kV, primarily for programmatic work. The engineer reviews client-provided work and scope requirements, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, develops permit documents, performs engineering calculations, reviews other engineers’ work, and provides engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews. The position also involves investigating outages and developing mitigations, travel to sites and customer meetings as needed, and compliance with Leidos and client safety, design, and quality requirements. The position is part of Leidos’ Power Delivery Services team, which provides power and telecommunications expertise to utilities and mobile operators. Work arrangements include flexible work hours and work arrangements, with opportunities for career development and growth. The role requires both field and office work, outdoor work, and overnight travel that may be 15–25%.
