About The Position

The Distribution Director leads and optimizes all distribution operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods across the supply chain. This role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, enhancing operational performance, and leading the implementation and integration of SAP systems across distribution and logistics functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in multi-site operations, process improvement, and enterprise system transformation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in distribution or logistics
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record leading SAP implementations (S/4HANA or ECC preferred) within a distribution or supply chain environment
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation management, and end-to-end supply chain processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, change management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and performance improvements
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience managing multi-site distribution networks
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics, reporting tools, and supply chain technologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute distribution strategies that align with organizational goals and growth initiatives
  • Lead day-to-day operations across distribution centers, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Oversee the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of SAP (S/4HANA or ECC) within distribution and logistics
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless system integration and process alignment
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and transportation efficiency
  • Manage third-party logistics providers and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance management
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to reduce costs and improve service levels
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing distribution teams, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence
