About The Position

The Distribution Center Operations Manager oversees daily distribution center operations, focusing on transportation and/or warehouse management. The manager leads assigned shifts and employees, directly managing warehouse associates and/or drivers. In close collaboration with the General Manager, the role helps ensure the facility meets safety, compliance, quality, and delivery goals, while coaching and developing the team. The position also contributes to deploying and executing supply chain strategy and driving continuous improvement within the distribution center.

The role works in a warehouse environment and involves occasional physical activity, including handling tires and lifting products. Employees may be exposed to the weather conditions prevalent at the time; noise is usually moderate. Travel is required 5% of the time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; the qualifications text also mentions a bachelor's degree, but does not clarify whether it is required.
• Five years of related experience.
• Physical ability to occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds and handle tires weighing more than approximately 50 pounds through rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described for the role, including occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Follow ATD quality standards, health and safety requirements, legal compliance, environmental policies, Standard Operating Process deliverables, and general duty-of-care requirements.
• Select, recruit, train, mentor, and develop employees.
• Investigate employee relations or performance concerns promptly and implement disciplinary action when needed in consultation with Human Resources.
• Lead daily distribution center huddles to clarify work tasks, expectations, and deliverables, encourage engagement, and build a values-based culture.
• Onboard and train team members; coach, motivate, and manage performance.
• Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of warehouse associates and/or delivery associates assigned to different shifts.
• Provide leadership support to the Distribution Center General Manager.
• Help deploy and execute supply chain strategy and drive continuous improvement within the distribution center.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to help the facility meet safety, compliance, quality, and delivery goals.
