About The Position

The Distribution Center Operations Manager oversees and supervises daily distribution center operations, focusing on transportation and/or warehouse management. The role leads assigned shifts and employees, directly managing warehouse associates and/or drivers. Working closely with the General Manager, the manager helps ensure the facility meets safety, compliance, quality, and delivery goals while coaching and developing the team. The position also contributes to deploying and executing supply chain strategy and driving continuous improvement within the distribution center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; the qualifications also list a bachelor's degree without clarifying whether it is required or preferred.
• Five years of related experience, including 2–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds and handle tires weighing more than approximately 50 pounds through rolling, destacking, or team lifting.
• Ability to perform the physical activities listed, including occasional standing, walking, sitting, handling objects or controls, reaching, stair climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and communicating through speech and hearing.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.

Nice To Haves

• Two to three years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to quality standards, health and safety requirements, legal compliance, environmental policies, Standard Operating Process deliverables, and general duty of care.
• Manage the team through employee selection, recruiting, training, mentoring, and development.
• Investigate employee relations or performance concerns promptly and implement disciplinary action when needed, in consultation with Human Resources.
• Lead daily distribution center huddles so employees understand work tasks, expectations, and deliverables, while encouraging engagement and a values-based culture.
• Onboard and train team members; coach, motivate, and manage performance.
• Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of warehouse associates and/or delivery associates across assigned shifts.
• Provide leadership support to the Distribution Center General Manager.
• Contribute to deploying and executing supply chain strategy and driving continuous improvement within the distribution center.
