About The Position

Omnicare, a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities, is hiring a part-time dispensing pharmacist. The role supports Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health; the pharmacist will be employed by Omnicare. The schedule is based on business needs.

Working in a fast-paced long-term care pharmacy, the pharmacist provides routine and emergency drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems serving care centers. The role helps ensure pharmacy management’s goals and objectives are met, and that appropriate drug products reach customers efficiently and safely. Success requires excellent customer service, the ability to prioritize workflow, and contributions to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service.

Requirements

• Active pharmacist license in Missouri, in good standing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize workflow.

Nice To Haves

• Long-term care pharmacy experience.
• IV certification or experience.
• Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate entry of orders.
• Maintain pharmacy security.
• Adhere to required delivery schedules.
• Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy.
• Check new and refill labels and orders for completeness and precision.
• Check drug packaging and labeling for content and accuracy.
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required.
• Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
• Apply knowledge of DEA and state laws concerning controlled-drug dispensing.
• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotations based on business needs.
• Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties vary by location.
• Prioritize workflow and help foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service.
