Dispensing Pharmacist- Long Term Care - Part Time
About The Position
Omnicare is a provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities and other customers in healthcare settings. This role will support Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health; the person hired will be employed by Omnicare. The Dispensing Pharmacist works in a fast-paced long-term care pharmacy, supporting pharmacy management goals and objectives. The role provides routine and emergency drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. The pharmacist helps ensure that the appropriate drug product reaches customers efficiently and safely, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service. The schedule is based on business needs, with 20 anticipated weekly hours.
Requirements
- Active pharmacist license in the state of Missouri, in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
Nice To Haves
- Long-term care pharmacy experience.
- IV certification or experience.
- Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate entry of orders.
- Maintain pharmacy security.
- Adhere to required delivery schedules.
- Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy.
- Check new and refill labels and orders for completeness and precision.
- Check drug packaging and labeling for content and accuracy.
- Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required.
- Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
- Apply knowledge of DEA and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing.
- Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotations based on business needs.
- Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA.
- Perform other duties as assigned; duties may vary by location.
