About The Position

This part-time pharmacist role is based in a closed-door, non-customer-facing long-term care pharmacy. The pharmacist supports pharmacy management’s goals and objectives by providing routine and emergency drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems serving long-term care centers. The role focuses on ensuring that appropriate drug products reach customers efficiently and safely, while maintaining high standards of quality, service, and continuous improvement.

The position is employed by Omnicare, which is continuing as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health. The schedule is 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., based on business needs, with a weekend rotation every fourth weekend. There is no on-call requirement. The position is 24 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed pharmacist in Oregon, with an active license in good standing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate entry of orders.
• Maintain pharmacy security.
• Adhere to required delivery schedules.
• Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy.
• Check new and refill labels and orders for completeness and precision.
• Check drug packaging and labeling for content and accuracy.
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required.
• Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
• Apply knowledge of DEA and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing.
• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotations based on business needs.
• Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties may vary by location.
