About The Position
Crothall Healthcare is hiring a full-time Dispatcher at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Dispatcher coordinates and monitors Patient Transportation activities by accurately and promptly managing customer transportation requests. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Prior dispatcher experience is preferred, but training is available. The fixed pay rate is $17.50 per hour. Crothall Healthcare provides specialized support services to the healthcare industry, including Environmental Services, Patient Transportation, Patient Observation, Facilities Management, Healthcare Technology Solutions, Ambulatory Services, and Sterile Processing. - Prior dispatcher experience is preferred; the employer is willing to train.

Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, detail-oriented customer service.
- Apply basic patient transportation concepts, infection-control practices, and proper body mechanics.
- Determine, explain, and develop dispatcher logic and transporter activities.
- Transport patients when necessary.
- Direct transport operations and transporter activities to ensure tasks are completed promptly.
- Monitor task availability and completion procedures, and follow up on service or operational issues.
- Ensure transportation requests are addressed efficiently and on time according to departmental standards, priorities, and patient appointments.
- Serve as a liaison between Patient Transportation and other departments.
- Assign, collect, and distribute pagers.
- Monitor daily sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Develop and promote positive customer-service relationships with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
- Dispatch transportation requests accurately and promptly.
- Ensure maximum staff productivity.
- Resolve complaints from patients, visitors, staff, or employees.
- Recommend solutions to ongoing or recurring issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
