Dispatcher - Full Time $24.00/hr.
About The Position
Menzies Aviation is hiring a full-time Dispatcher at San Diego International Airport for $24.00 per hour. The role coordinates flight and fueling information with operations, airlines, and ground handlers, maintains flight logs and schedules, and supports billing, gate assignments, and passenger services. Dispatchers may also arrange accommodations when flights are delayed and recommend weight and balance preparation in accordance with airline requirements. The position requires meeting the station’s attendance standards and following workplace health and safety procedures, including the company’s Substance Misuse Policy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and any other FAA Airport-required identification, seals, or authorizations.
- Able to continuously lift, move, or push 70 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Responsibilities
- Communicate flight release and fuel load information to appropriate operations.
- Maintain communication with line operations and air carriers using two-way radios.
- Coordinate operations with the airline and ground handlers.
- Maintain flight logs and update flight schedules.
- Coordinate with billing departments regarding services rendered, compile information for each flight, and submit it for final bill preparation.
- Arrange accommodations when flight delays occur.
- Handle phone traffic.
- Assist with planning and control of gate assignments.
- Assist with passenger services as required.
- Recommend weight and balance preparation in accordance with airline requirements.
- Meet the station’s attendance standards.
- Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing, following provided information, training, and workplace safety rules or procedures.
