Dispatcher I
About The Position
The Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Corcoran, California. The role coordinates daily transportation and delivery schedules to ensure products move efficiently between warehouse locations and customer sites. The Dispatcher monitors routes, responds to delays or issues, and updates schedules as needed. The position communicates with drivers, warehouse staff, sales personnel, and customers; maintains accurate logs and documentation; and uses dispatch software or systems to track orders and shipments. It also involves prioritizing orders, supporting safety and compliance standards, and collaborating with operations leadership to optimize service and productivity.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Ability to function in high-stress situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office and scheduling or similar software.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of general purchasing operations and/or agricultural fertilizers and pesticides.
- At least 1 year of experience with agricultural fertilizers and pesticides.
- At least 1 year of experience working as a dispatcher or in a similar capacity.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with sales staff and customers to coordinate purchasing orders.
- Receive, process, and prepare orders for pickup or delivery.
- Coordinate product transfers between locations.
- Coordinate shipments via trucking companies.
- Provide load requirement information to all drivers.
- Complete orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Operate truck scales.
- Complete weight tags, bills of lading, and hazardous material shipping documents.
- Receive product-order inquiries via phone and email.
- Provide direction and instructions, verbally and in writing, to customers and employees.
- Track and maintain inventory of products stored in the warehouse and in bulk storage.
- Calculate total quantities of product by weight and/or volumetric measurements.
- Perform customer service duties as needed by responding to calls and visitors professionally.
- Provide backup and assistance to other dispatchers and employees by answering phones as needed.
- Assign and monitor drivers throughout routes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
