About The Position

The Dispatch and Switchboard Operator manages incoming internal and external calls, provides directory assistance and general information, and dispatches security personnel. The role communicates codes, alerts, drills, and other announcements under established policies and protocols, including emergency and disaster management plans. It also involves proactive monitoring for potential or actual security threats and timely responses to them. The operator uses answering, beeper, and paging systems to contact personnel and code teams, and maintains desk directories, on-call lists, reference guides, and related materials.

Requirements

• Strong grammar and spelling skills for clear communication.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in dispatch, switchboard operation, office work, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with operating a multi-line telephone system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and direct internal and external calls.
• Provide directory assistance and general information.
• Communicate codes, alerts, drills, and other announcements according to established policies and protocols, including emergency and disaster management plans.
• Proactively monitor for potential or actual security threats and respond to them in a timely manner.
• Operate answering service, beeper, and paging systems to contact internal and external personnel and code teams.
• Maintain desk directories, on-call lists, reference guides, and other associated reference materials.
