About The Position

The Dishwasher, also called a Kitchen Helper, cleans dishes in a food service environment to ensure clean dishes, glasses, and utensils are available for the kitchen and restaurant, particularly during peak operating hours. The role is predominantly based in a kitchen, with the possibility of working in other indoor or outdoor areas of the park as needed.

The position includes operating commercial dishwashing equipment, hand-washing dishes when required, maintaining clean and organized work areas, handling supplies and deliveries, and supporting kitchen and wait staff. It requires working safely with equipment, chemicals, and cleaning products while following food preparation and serving regulations. The role also involves customer service, teamwork, and communicating safety, hygiene, maintenance, injury, or emergency concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
• Able to comply with all uniform policies.
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to address questions, problems, issues, and concerns positively and professionally.
• A safety-oriented mindset and understanding of the importance of complying with state and local food preparation and serving regulations.
• Ability to use dishwashing equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow directions, multitask, and work both as part of a team and independently.
• Able to stand, walk, and remain on feet for most of the workday.
• Able to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above the shoulders.
• Able to tolerate constant exposure to heat, steam, hot water, and humidity.
• Able to place dishes, pans, utensils, and plates on low and high shelves.
• Able to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Able to use a step ladder safely and properly.
• Able to work amid frequent interruptions, repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environments.
• No education requirements; previous work experience is not required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Wash kitchenware, including utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, bowls, and food storage containers.
• Operate commercial dishwashing machines and hand-wash dishes when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Store clean dishes and equipment in their proper locations.
• Sort and remove kitchen and dining room trash, and rinse garbage cans before adding clean liners.
• Inspect cookware and dishes for damage or safety hazards, such as chips or cracks.
• Assist kitchen and wait staff with sweeping and mopping floors during each shift.
• Clean work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls, and floors.
• Clear tables after guests finish their meals.
• Assist with loading and unloading food truck deliveries.
• Assist with stocking and replenishing kitchen and dining room supplies.
• Properly handle, label, stock, and store products, including chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Promptly escalate safety, hygiene, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Promptly notify the security team or manager about team member or guest injuries and emergencies.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
